This guide builds on the work of Sabrina Imbler, who spoke (on the phone and in person, at the gargantuan Consumer Electronics Evidence in Las Vegas) with product managers (the folks who oversee every attribute of a showerhead, from blueprint and applied science to materials, manufacture, and quality control) at Moen, Kohler, Delta, Toto, and High Sierra. It also builds on the piece of work of senior staff author Tim Heffernan, who spent months testing showerheads for the 2016 version of this guide and met with industry reps at the Kitchen & Bathroom Industry Show (KBIS). The guide'due south longtime editor, Harry Sawyers, has written about how a dwelling's shower works, and he has interviewed lots of people in the bath-fixture business on trips to KBIS and to the International Builders' Testify over the past fifteen years. He returned to IBS/KBIS in Jan 2020, on the hunt for new showerheads to test for this guide. Editor Joshua Lyon met most with industry reps at IBS/KBIS in February 2021, interviewed Moen's director of industrial design, and spent four months showering with our previous picks and testing new models.

Renters can and should upgrade a showerhead—but save the quondam ane and put it back in when y'all move out. (Homeowners, you already know you can upgrade.) Here's a video on how to install a showerhead, which is a job we believe you can exercise even if you've never picked upwardly a wrench.

Investing in a showerhead may seem like a splurge. But a good showerhead, with a gushing, steady spray of evenly heated water under whatever pressure, will significantly improve your daily routine. And whatsoever practiced showerhead is likely to be an upgrade over what you inherited when you moved in. You may not know how bad your showerhead is. As this guide's original author, Sabrina, put it, "Before writing this guide, I didn't realize I'd been living with an uneven and sparse spray and a ring of cold mist encircling a too-hot heart. I hate that showerhead now." Our picks volition probably make you hate your old showerhead likewise.

A selection of showerheads tested for our review of the best showerheads.

Across the basic categories of fixed and handheld (the former beingness the one mounted up on the wall, and the latter the one with a hose that yous can selection up, aim, and spray where yous need to), the world of showerheads presents an abundance of aesthetic choices. Showerheads take multiple forms (rectilinear, curvilinear, exotic) and styles (traditional, transitional, contemporary), and every brand advertises unique spray technologies with obscure trade names. But all showerheads should, at the very least, deliver a satisfying, consistent spray using any water pressure or showerhead meridian. We set up out to present both fixed and handheld options, and we narrowed the field to 18 finalists that met the following criteria.

  • Meets electric current regulations: Nosotros considered only those showerheads with a water flow of less than or equal to 2.v gallons per minute (gpm), the federally mandated menstruation charge per unit. In 2018, California reduced the maximum showerhead gpm from 2.0 to 1.8. Colorado has similar restrictions, and other states are adopting them likewise. We sought models that are available everywhere.
  • Includes multiple spray patterns: A rain-shower spray should exist wide enough to drench and envelop your unabridged body. A massage spray should target sore muscles or apace rinse shampoo. (We made exceptions for the High Sierra and the Nebia past Moen because their solo spray options serve a specific purpose.)
  • Piece of cake to utilise and handle: In most multifunction showerheads, a spray dial sets the spray pattern. Settings should exist clear and like shooting fish in a barrel to conform, especially while the water is pouring out. For handheld models, the caput should mount and detach easily and securely, and it should never fall out unexpectedly.
  • Installs in minutes: You should demand an adaptable wrench and some Teflon tape, and ideally nothing else; this ruled out options that required drilling or mounting hardware. (This is some other detail we waived for the Nebia past Moen—installation takes a bit longer, but it'due south simple and the boosted parts are all included.)
  • Has positive reviews: When information technology comes to showerheads, people's subjective impressions are important, and nosotros took observe of whatsoever models with a loftier volume of client satisfaction.
  • Aesthetically pleasing: We sought showerheads with a sleek and understated wait that could fit into all styles of bathrooms.
  • Easy to make clean: Scale-resistant silicone or polymer nozzles let you simply rub them clean with your hand, an comeback over more-clog-decumbent plastic or metallic nozzles.
  • Reliable: We considered showerheads from major manufacturers and smaller companies, weighing things like warranties, customer support, and availability of replacement parts.

We showered. A lot. We used each showerhead we tested at least 3 times, and nosotros probably used our finalists more than 10 times in stricter, back-to-dorsum tests. Across ii particularly wet days, Sabrina took more than 20 showers, installing a new showerhead each fourth dimension. Two of Sabrina's roommates also took their regularly scheduled showers with each showerhead and reported their observations and comparisons.

Aside from taking notes on the feel of the spray, we noted how piece of cake each caput was to install, whether there was whatever leakage, how information technology felt to adjust the settings, and how clunky or sleek the head looked in our bathrooms.

Our judgments of performance were necessarily subjective. But our concerns boiled downwards to this: Does the showerhead feel good and piece of work well? If so, how does it compare to the rest?

Our pick, the Kohler K-22169-CP Forte Multifunction in operation, with water spraying from the showerhead face.

Our selection

Kohler 22169-G-CP Forte Multifunction Showerhead

In our tests, the Forte's three spray settings—a generous, soaking rain-shower spray; a narrow, pulsating massage spray; and a drenching fine spray—felt denser, more powerful, and more than pleasant than settings on other showerheads we tested. Its coverage too felt fuller than that of other showerheads we tested, thanks in part to a design that aerates the droplets, making them larger, softer, and warmer.

Unlike the sprays of other showerheads we tested, which often felt thin and sparse, the Forte'southward spray enveloped the entire trunk in a lush drenching that felt like concentric circles of silky ropes battering at our backs.

The Forte'southward 3 spray settings—a soaking rain-shower spray, a pulsating massage, and a gentle aerated rinse—felt denser and more than luxurious than those of other showerheads. Video: Sarah Kobos

The Forte's rain-shower setting delivers a solid cone of water that soaks every inch. Another setting is a dense, fine spray that envelops you in something similar a cloud of warm water, while beingness enough potent enough to rinse soap and shampoo away. A narrow, pulsing massage setting gave our backs a existent thumping (plenty to piece of work on some of the knots we've accumulated after working from dwelling for the by twelvemonth).

The Forte was notably easy to rotate and adjust subsequently installation. You can spin its spray-setting dial with simply one paw—easier than on models (such as the Flipside) that crave 2 easily to switch settings. That's useful for anyone, but especially for people who accept limited motion in their arms and shoulders.

Like most stock-still showerheads, the Forte is like shooting fish in a barrel to install: You simply unscrew your old model and screw in this one. And as with many new models, if the Forte'southward spray face clogs with limescale, you tin can run your fingertips firmly across the flexible spout tips to remove whatsoever buildup.

A notable detail virtually this model'due south predecessor, the 10284 (a now-discontinued former recommendation in this guide): We counted 47 Amazon reviews written by people who used this showerhead in sure hotels, such as the Holiday Inn Express concatenation and the Yosemite Valley Gild, and they loved information technology so much they ordered one for use at domicile after the visit. Kohler confirmed this partnership, which speaks to the powers of this showerhead: People tried it, realized they couldn't alive without it, and actually took the fourth dimension to runway down the model. In the words of reviewer Roger T: "Kind of weird being then enthusiastic about a shower head but information technology is really good."

Flaws but non dealbreakers

The Forte has only three spray patterns. You can get more with some other showerheads. But we institute these oft composite into each other and were individually less impressive than the Forte's three singled-out options.

Our upgrade pick, the Moen Attract showerhead.

Upgrade pick

Moen Attract Magnetix Chrome Rainshower Combo 26008

The Moen Attract Magnetix Chrome Rainshower Combo 26008 is the luxury SUV of showerheads: huge and powerful. The 1.75-gpm model'due south half-dozen spray settings meet almost every possible showering need, and its paw shower connects (and disconnects) more easily than those of its competitors. But, equally with all handhelds, the dangling hose takes up infinite and volition block some shower caddies.

The hose of the Moen Attract showerhead.

The Moen's 5-foot flexible stainless steel hose is fabricated to last. Only similar all combination models, it dangles in the space where yous may desire to put a shower caddy. Photograph: Sarah Kobos

Betwixt its rain-shower and handheld settings, the 26008 also offers every possible shower experience, including pulsating, massage-like sprays; drenching rain-shower sprays; gentler, wavy ones; effusive mists; and the traditional concentric rings of a silky, ropelike spray. The 26008'south massage setting was the most powerful we tested. The main, 6¾-inch head is more than wide enough to provide an enveloping waterfall, while the handheld'due south 3¾-inch caput has college-pressure level sprays that tin easily clear out shampoo. The diversity is infrequent, which is bully for larger households with dissimilar preferences. But after using this model for a couple of weeks, nosotros institute ourselves going back to just a few settings. And even that's beyond the norm. We asked Jason Symeon, the company's managing director of industrial pattern, if at that place's an optimal number of settings when they're brainstorming new designs. He said, "Our research has told us that a lot of people set [a showerhead] to their favorite experience and leave it there."

The Moen 26008'due south secure magnetic dock snags the head when it comes within inches of the connection bespeak—far easier than other designs. Video: Sarah Kobos

Unlike with fixed showerheads, the 26008'due south detachable handheld head can rinse every corner, to clean the shower or wash kids or a dog. The 26008's handheld has a five-foot flexible stainless steel hose (about 6 feet with the handheld head included) and thus avoids kinks (like you get with cheaper plastic hoses). And the 26008'southward magnetic docking system was the best of any we tested, with a separate omnidirectional socket and strong magnets (which snagged the handheld when it came inside inches of the connection point). Other docks (like the Kohler Converge and the Delta In2ition) required a lot more fiddling to make the magnetic connection work.

The 26008 has a pause/trickle button that lets you stop water catamenia while you lot do other things in the shower that don't crave water, such as shaving. This saves water, and it retains your current temperature setting (which won't happen if you lot turn the shower off with the faucet handle).

The exceptional variety of settings and the versatility of a handheld unit make the Moen 26008 bang-up for larger households with dissimilar showering needs. Video: Sarah Kobos

Despite its complex advent, the 26008 installs as hands equally traditional showerheads. You lot simply connect the fixed showerhead, and and so attach the handheld via the hose. This isn't unique to the 26008, only many hand showers require the installation of a wall-mounted slider bar or holster—lots of work for no appreciable proceeds in performance.

Our upgrade pick shower head, the Kohler Freespin Bellerose.

Kohler Freespin Bellerose 3-Spray Dual Showerhead Combo

The Kohler Freespin Bellerose iii-Spray Dual Showerhead Philharmonic features ii showerheads that can rotate 360 degrees, like the hands of a clock. Upon get-go glance, the design seems a bit gimmicky, merely the Freespin'due south supreme versatility became immediately clear after installation. The handheld stays firmly locked in identify via magnet as you lot maneuver the device into your desired positions. And each showerhead is cradled in a pivoting ball and socket, and then you can aim the water flow from both heads in any direction. On your first outing with the Freespin, plan to take a leisurely shower and so yous can play around with all the adjustments, and try not to think about how you lot expect like a naked WWII radio operator. Or practise! Shower time is your time.

You spin me right 'round, baby. Video: Michael Hession

The endless possibilities for spray directions and coverage that the Freespin offers are ideal for households with people of varying heights and sizes. Broad shoulders? Turn the Freespin to exist horizontal and adjust the heads outward. Tall and skinny? Position the Freespin to exist vertical, with both of the heads tilted slightly downwards. Or don't heed to any of this advice and set the sprays yet you want. The Freespin is all about choices.

The Freespin's wide coverage spray (shown hither) becomes double broad when y'all're using both showerheads at once. Photograph: Michael Hession

Each 5¼-inch head has three different spray options—wide coverage, massage, and a silk spray (as well as a suspension setting)—adding upward to a full of 15 different flow combinations. The silk spray was a pleasant surprise; it felt feather-soft and lite on the face, yet it was satisfyingly full and potent enough to rinse shampoo from hair. A center knob switches water menses to either the handheld or the fixed mount—or to both at once. If you don't read the instructions, locating the diverter knob isn't intuitive since information technology looks like an unassuming function of the hardware'south connecting rail. We appreciate subtle design, but the switch is like shooting fish in a barrel to miss. In fact, we saw 1 review that bemoans the Freespin'due south lack of a flow-swapping option.

Most showerheads that divert between stock-still and handheld outputs experience a significant subtract in water force per unit area in one case both heads are in use. Only the difference in the Freespin was barely noticeable and chop-chop forgotten, especially compared with the many models nosotros dismissed. We saw a few reviews from consumers who experienced a desperate change in pressure when both heads were running. Based on our tests, still, we believe they likely received a damaged model (the Freespin comes with a express lifetime warranty, which might come in handy if anything happens beyond Domicile Depot's return policy). The complaints might also speak to the subjective nature of testing showerheads. Plumbing can vary as much every bit preference.

Installing the Freespin is equally easy equally installing the Moen 26008: Just connect the fixed portion of the rail to your existing pipe, and so attach the handheld via the 5-pes hose. Its design is so elegantly simple that it's a wonder we haven't seen one like information technology before. We are excited to see how Kohler continues to improve on this clever new take.

A person showering under a Nebia by Moen showerhead.

Nebia by Moen

Information technology'southward of import to note up front the people the Nebia past Moen is not for: fans of thumping massage settings and (co-ordinate to Moen's own literature) folks with hot-water heaters that tin't attain and maintain a temperature of 115 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. If this doesn't depict your predilection or circumstance, and you honey steam rooms but wish the warm, soothing vapor also had enough downward force to properly breast-stroke in, the surprisingly easy-to-mount Nebia past Moen N207C0 shower system is worth the toll. And information technology's far cheaper than a professional spa-style bathroom renovation.

The Nebia started out as a Kickstarter campaign (one of the cofounders is a onetime Apple tree engineer), before Moen partnered with the visitor. The shower works by atomizing water as information technology's expelled from the seven.nine-inch rain shower. Six nozzles plough the droplets into a fine mist, with a much wider range of coverage than you get with a standard showerhead. So even though it feels similar you're using more h2o, you're actually using less considering the droplets are smaller.

To minimize heat loss, the water is ejected extremely fast. But there's a natural degree of cooling that happens every bit droplets move through the air, and the effect is more dramatic with droplets of this minute size. This is why information technology's so important to make sure your hot-water system tin maintain a minimum degree of oestrus—otherwise, your bathroom could devolve into the chilly, misty atmosphere of a noir film, sans the cozy trench coat. The temperature requirement too means that if you like extremely hot showers, the initial ejection of water from the nozzles tin experience downright uncomfortable for well-nigh the kickoff quarter-inch. Simply since no showerhead is designed and then that you press your skin straight against the surface, we haven't constitute this to be an event.

The mist feature on the Nebia by Moen showerhead, our pick for an at-home spa experience.

Spray misty for me! The Nebia past Moen turns showers into a steam bath. Photo: Moen

The rain-shower height is vertically adjustable—a whopping 17 inches—and glides smoothly along the subclass, stopping exactly where you want it to. The circular rain shower pivots left and right. It likewise tilts up so you can angle the flow outward (similar with a standard showerhead) or have the flow pour downward from to a higher place (as though information technology'south installed in the ceiling). The wand sits on a half-globe magnetic dock, so you tin angle the ii additional sprays anywhere on your torso, for even more coverage. The wand spray turns on and off, only at that place'south no option for using just the wand with no rain shower. We've seen complaints nearly this, since it means yous tin can't utilize just the wand to, say, wash a dog. Only we don't think this is a showerhead one would purchase with that chore in mind to begin with. Regardless, if you lot endeavor the Nebia and make up one's mind it's not for y'all, Moen offers a 30-twenty-four hours coin-back guarantee.

Installation looks rather daunting, only it'due south a literal snap: The bracket clicks into place on a base that holds firm against the shower wall (with a foursquare of strong 3M adhesive); ditto for the wand dock. In that location'due south but ane function of the process that might seem intimidating for someone who'southward never worked on in-the-walls abode improving: You lot need to remove the entire shower neck, then afterward unscrewing it with a wrench, you'll exist peering into a pocket-sized hole in your shower wall. Then you insert the included installation primal—basically a metallic ruler that doubles every bit a tightener—until it meets resistance from the pipe inside. The letter of the alphabet showing on the key merely outside the inlet indicates which of the included adapters to insert and tighten, with the adapter now serving every bit the new outlet for water running into the Nebia organisation. This handy video walks you through the process. Starting from when we opened the box, installation took us just over 30 minutes. And we had no difficulties. But we wish the instruction manual would move an essential line from Stride 8 to the very commencement, in order to temper excitement: "For optimal adhesive strength, allow to cure 24 hours before showering." If y'all'd like to move the Nebia to a different location after it has been installed, work loose (using a plastic putty knife) the agglutinative under the mounted fixtures, and order a $6 replacement adhesive disc. If the erstwhile agglutinative leaves any residue behind, you may demand some Goo Gone.

Boosted installation requirements (like the minimum altitude required from your existing shower outlet to the ceiling) are detailed on Moen's website. A bathroom fan (or an operable window) is an advisable prerequisite as well. The offset time we showered with the Nebia, we forgot to turn on a fan, and we witnessed actual rivulets winding down the walls afterward. (Running the fan solved the upshot.)

We know these are a lot of warnings, constraints, and "buts" for a Wirecutter product recommendation. We chose to include the Nebia past Moen anyway because this organization, for a specific type of shower enthusiast with the appropriate existing circumstances, creates a luxurious, steamy spa paradise similar no other—unless you're willing and able to accept out a home-comeback loan.

Our low flow pick, the High Sierra 1.5 GPM High Efficiency Low Flow Showerhead.

High Sierra 1.5 GPM High Efficiency Low Flow Showerhead

For a very depression-flow model, the High Sierra 1.5 GPM High Efficiency Low Menstruation Showerhead has a spray so lush information technology seems impossible: Information technology'due south total and powerful, even compared with those of some two.5-gpm showerheads. The Loftier Sierra offers only one spray pattern, simply we found that its drenching, heavy droplets were more than adequate to rinse out shampoo.

The High Sierra feels naught similar a low-menstruum showerhead. In fact, it feels luxurious, soaking you lot entirely in heavy droplets, with no bare patches or common cold mist. Co-ordinate to David Malcolm, High Sierra'south founder and designer, traditional showerheads split up water into discrete mini-streams via a constellation of nozzles. But to make the mini-streams feel effective, those showerheads rely on a high volume of water at a high pressure. Inspired by his background as a nozzle manufacturer for agricultural irrigation, Malcolm instead created a nozzle that breaks a depression-pressure stream of water into heavy, fibroid aerosol.

The depression-period High Sierra showerhead feels luxurious, with a drenching, powerful spray. But its single (stiff) setting may be overwhelming for some people. Video: Sarah Kobos

In practice, that means the High Sierra's spray feels a little less orderly only significantly more than drenching than the other low-flow heads we tested. The High Sierra'southward spray even felt more powerful than the pelting-shower setting on some 2.five-gpm Kohler models nosotros tested. Only the Loftier Sierra'south single spray setting may be a bit strong for some people, and if you don't like it, there'southward no way to accommodate it.

The High Sierra's metal ball joint ensures the head pivots smoothly in whatsoever management. Photograph: Sarah Kobos

The Loftier Sierra lacks fine silicone nozzles that tin be rubbed with a finger to go rid of scale, but Malcolm says its wide passageway generally eliminates the issue. Several Amazon reviews from longtime owners seem to confirm this showerhead's resistance to scale. If you lot do run across scaling or a clog, the visitor suggests removing and soaking the showerhead in white vinegar for a few hours.

When we final updated this guide, we noticed during testing that the High Sierra had a more-audible sound than your typical showerhead. Nosotros brushed it off—noise rarely comes up in the Loftier Sierra's reviews. But a friend of Tim's who suffers from mild tinnitus also tried this showerhead and told u.s. he constitute the sound to be "a fleck uncomfortable." This time around we paid closer attention to the audio while testing. It still didn't bother any of our users, but we did detect other complaints about this showerhead being loud. If you have highly sensitive ears, the High Sierra is probably not the best pick for you.

Kohler will be adding two new models to its Freespin line this year, and we plan to test them. From the big-name brands, we're also noticing a trend of showerheads with extras built in, like Bluetooth speakers, aromatherapy, and Alexa compatibility. Let us know in the comments if y'all're interested in having u.s. test these tricked-out showerheads for a standalone guide.

In 2020, Delta debuted an internal-components design chosen UltraSoak in some of its new showerheads; Delta claims this technology sculpts droplets in a mode that imitates a "dense rainfall sensation." We were impressed with the thickness of the spray on the H2OKinetic UltraSoak 52460, only unfortunately, in that location just isn't plenty of it. The showerhead creates such full and forceful aerosol that the empty centre space inside the spray is frustratingly noticeable and creates the shower equivalent of biting into the hollow end of an ice cream cone. Too, given that this showerhead retails for over $100, the handle that toggles between settings felt shockingly flimsy. Disappointed as nosotros were, should Delta figure out a method that gets UltraSoak to feel as powerful from every single hole, for complete trunk coverage, our top fixed-mount selection might accept a serious contender.

Our previous upgrade pick, the combination Delta In2ition 58480, performed poorly in 2019, 2020, and 2021 tests against other models. Its spray patterns were disappointing—the stock-still head provided an unpleasantly sparse halo, and the other settings felt weak. This is no doubtfulness due to the issues we had installing the showerhead in 2019: No matter how much Teflon record we wrapped around the threads or how tightly we wrenched the head, it leaked at the connectedness point. We tested a dozen other showerheads and never had this problem. In the years since nosotros concluding tested a new 58480, its reviews have dipped, with a pattern of complaints about leaks and others that criticize the showerhead's low h2o force per unit area. Newer reviews are more than positive, but the most recent model we tested was still nowhere nigh as impressive as our picks (for all the same reasons we originally removed the Delta 58480 from our list). On the upside, we didn't experience any leaking this fourth dimension around.

The Delta In2ition 58620-25-PK comes with a detachable handheld that'south shaped like a wand, instead of the usual circular attachment. The benefit of this long and skinny design is a gentle, continuous waterfall setting that'south platonic for rinsing a baby'southward head. (It felt pretty skillful on ours, too.) Unfortunately, this model shares many of the aforementioned flaws every bit the Delta 58480. And though we appreciate a function designed with children in heed, a well-placed hand is just every bit expert at keeping water out of a wee ane'south eyes during bathroom time. Nosotros dismissed a third Delta In2ition model, the 75583CSN, right out of the case due to its cheap-looking plastic attachment nut and bankroll.

We had high hopes for the Delta HydroRain 75699 because the fixed-mount portion of this dual handheld model tilts, pregnant y'all have more than command over where the overhead spray hits. A weak catamenia doomed it from the showtime. And the face of the handheld is molded at such a sharp downward angle toward the handle that it'southward difficult to find a comfortable way to rinse off. It's a truly bizarre blueprint flaw, considering no other handheld we tested had a similar issue.

Our Loftier Sierra low-catamenia upkeep pick now also comes with a handheld pick, but we found it to exist heavy and cumbersome. And with just one setting, it'southward not worth its significantly higher price.

Nebia by Moen also makes a less expensive spa shower, the N214R0, that doesn't have a handshower. Nosotros turned the handshower off on the model nosotros tested to see how information technology felt and much adopt the dual option.

We've had a few readers request that we test the popular Speakman Signature Icon Anystream, and then we ordered its 1.75 GPM South-2252, a highly rated model on Amazon. We did capeesh its heft and quality metal lever (which smoothly glides between three settings, instead of clicking from one to the next, like most showerheads do). But none of the streams provided broad enough coverage to experience satisfying.

Our previous budget selection, the Delta Faucet 75152, compared poorly in 2019 tests confronting some newer models released since our 2016 tests. Since no changes have been made to its blueprint since our last exam, we didn't consider it again for 2021. Though the 75152 does offer two gpm settings (2.v and 1.85), the spray felt uneven and weak, and the inconsistent droplet sizes made the spray's outside feel cooler than the center.

We liked the Moen Magnetix 26100EP, an affordable handheld showerhead with half dozen spray settings. If you want a handheld option simply don't desire to shell out $100 for the Moen 26008, the 26100EP could work for you. We didn't recommend the 26100EP considering a significant portion of the head (the office that allows it to swivel) is made of plastic, which is softer than metal and easier to cross thread and impairment when installing. We prefer metallic construction.

The unmarried-mountain Moen HydroEnergetix 8-spray is another affordable option. Just of its 8 settings, but one (the concentrated massage) hitting the spot, and none provided broad enough body coverage.

We tested the Moen S6320EP and establish its sprays underpowered. Its 1.75-gpm flow felt too low to create a satisfying pelting-shower experience. The caput is 8 inches wide, which provides significant coverage but makes it harder for each individual spout to deliver a great deal of water. It's also so wide it won't fit in showers with shower artillery (the fleck  coming out of the wall that the showerhead screws into) that are less than 3 inches long. And 4 inches or more is preferable, because that gives the head its full range of motion.

The combination Kohler Converge 2-in-one 5-Spray directs all the streams of h2o to converge in the middle, which is the only betoken of the showerhead where the force per unit area actually felt strong. As this YouTube reviewer points out, this ways you need to hold the showerhead 18 inches away from your body to feel a massage-like spray. To detach the handheld, you push it frontward by its handle, like shifting from starting time to second gear in a manual-transmission car. Simply if y'all don't have enough room behind the shower arm to push out the handheld, it's basically stuck. Tim found it also tight on his bathroom's 3-inch shower arm; four inches or more should be enough. (Measure straight out from the wall to the nearest edge of the shower arm's threaded section.)

The Kohler K-15996-CP Flipside is a popular but strange model that changes settings by rotating a nozzle-filled disk nestled inside a circular holster. Two of these settings are traditional—a constellation of separated jet streams or a gurgling waterfall. These were fine, but the settings that emit from the narrow edges of the deejay are sparse and apartment mistings, which we did not find desirable. When yous rotate the deejay to switch settings, it sprays your face in the procedure.

We tested the i.5 gpm Niagara N2915CH, which is like to the High Sierra. With two spray settings, the Niagara is technically more versatile, only its rain shower is far less powerful and lush. Its 2nd setting, with six swiveled jets of water that come out from the head in pairs of two, creates uncomfortably common cold gaps at the center, under a college showerhead.

We tested the Hydroluxe 24 Part three-manner 2 in 1 Shower Head, one of the most popular and least expensive showerheads on Amazon. The model broke equally we were trying to assemble it (a surprisingly difficult task), which probably speaks to the quality and longevity of the head.
